Location Information:

Dunagiri is in Almora district in the Indian hill state of Uttarakhand. It is about 60-90 minute drive from Ranikhet (53 km) on the Ranikhet-Kausani route. Various options of reaching here via here by plane, train and automobiles are given below.

By Train:
The suggested way of reaching here is by train from Delhi (Ranikhet Express, train no. 5013). Train leaves Old Delhi station daily at 10:35 pm and reaches the terminal point of Kathgodam at 5.45 am after a comfortable overnight journey. From Kathgodam one can hire a taxi to Dunagiri which is a four hour drive (140 km) through picturesque hills. By 10 am you should be at Dunagiri, depending on the number of stops you choose to make en-route. On prior notice we can pre-arrange a pick-up taxi for you at Kathgodam. For the return journey one can leave Dunagiri at 3.00 pm to take the train from Kathgodam station which departs at 8:30 pm, reaching New Delhi at 4.00 am. It is suggested to make early reservations for the train since it seems to be a ‘popular’ train. By Road:
Dunagiri is about a 10 hour drive from Delhi covering a distance of 400 km. Taking NH-24, the route goes through Ghaziabad, Hapur, Garhmukteshwar, Moradabad and Rampur. From Rampur you turn left to reach Kathgodam via Rudrapur and Haldwani. After Kathgodam is a scenic hill journey takes you through Bhimtal, Bhowali, Ranikhet and Dwarahat. Another route from Moradabad via Kashipur and Kaladhungi is more scenic with better roads.

By Air:
The nearest airport is Pantnagar Aiport (PGH). There is a direct flight from Delhi operated by Jagson Airlines that takes about an hour. From Pantnagar, on prior notice taxi can be arranged to pick you up, or you can take a taxi to nearest big town, Haldwani/Kathgodam (30 minutes away) and get another taxi to Dunagiri from there. Pantnagar is about 155 km from Dunagiri. Taxi journey takes about 4.5 hours.Please let us know if you would like us to pre-arrange taxi for pick up/drop from airport.
